Big or small, your gift matters.

We believe everyone deserves access to quality, compassionate care, no matter their income, insurance status or background. As the needs of our community grow, so must we. That’s why we’ve launched our Capital Campaign, focused investments that allow us to care for more patients, expand critical services and create healthier communities for years to come.

Why Capital Campaigns Matter

Unlike annual giving, which helps fund ongoing care and operations, capital campaigns are about building the future. These one-time, large-scale projects allow us to:

  • Expand Clinics: Add more exam rooms and services to meet rising demand.
  • Upgrade Equipment: Invest in state-of-the-art tools for more accurate diagnoses and effective treatments.
  • Modernize Facilities: Create patient-centered spaces that are safe, efficient and welcoming.
  • Strengthen Infrastructure: Ensure we’re prepared for long-term sustainability and growth.

Current Projects

Mishawaka Expansion Project

Serving over 10,000 patients annually, HealthLinc Mishawaka has outgrown its space. To address this, we expanded our HealthLinc Mishawaka clinic, creating dedicated spaces for behavioral health, increasing chiropractic services, enlarging the optometry section, adding facilities for women’s health and OB services, and preparing for future growth of additional specialty services. This expansion will allow us to serve an additional 4,667 patients with 14,000 more visits by 2026.

Goal: $2,424,900
Funds Raised: $702,000

HealthLinc Opportunity Enterprises

To address unmet needs, HealthLinc seeks funding to expand safety-net services by opening a clinic at Opportunity Enterprises (OE), located at 3101 Evans Avenue, Valparaiso, IN. The new clinic in OE’s 7,500 square foot building will offer primary and immediate care services to the public and individuals with intellectual/developmental (IDD) and physical disabilities. It will feature mobility-friendly exam rooms, a sensory room, an adult changing table, adaptive equipment and specially trained staff. Services will be open to all, regardless of ability to pay. Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance and sliding scale will be accepted.

Goal: $500,000
Funds Raised: NEW

Your Impact

The Mishawaka expansion will allow more people to receive services.

One of my patients, who was previously homeless and staying at the Homeless Center, was brought in for an evaluation with the director of the assisted living facility to determine his eligibility for residency. He was approved, and he is now living in a facility in Mishawaka. His anxiety and depression have decreased, and he is now stable and safe. -Christina Rodriguez, Community Health Worker

HealthLinc’s staff is truly what sets our clinics apart, and they are often an avenue for additional care, our specialized providers spotting points when intervention or additional care is needed. In 2024, Camille Diggins (HealthLinc Mishawaka) won a Mary Beth Witcher Patient Advocate award for going above and beyond for her patients, consistently overseeing a special program to ensure female patients receive their yearly exams, even if they are uninsured, and makes special efforts to advocate for the Hispanic population who too often only have an emergency room insurance card, which doesn’t have many services. Camille’s work is vital. When a patient came into the clinic with OB issues, Camille noticed the baby she held had an unusually large head. The patient said she was told the baby was “normal.” Camille still insisted that the baby be brought to the medical side to be evaluated, and another provider examined the baby and, thinking he had hydrocephalus, sent the baby to the ER for further evaluation. It was then found out that the baby had subdural hematomas and retinal hemorrhages, and several ribs were fractured. This child’s life was saved because of the diligence and intervention of our advocate.

Everyone Deserves Compassionate, Quality Care.

A nonverbal woman began showing abnormal vital signs, and emergency medical services were called. After evaluating her, because she was unable to verbally share her symptoms, first responders said she didn’t need to go to the ER, suggesting she’d likely “sit in the waiting room for 10+ hours and be very uncomfortable.” A nurse who works for Opportunity Enterprises insisted, and thanks to their advocacy, the individual was transported and ultimately admitted with pneumonia and COVID-19.

Another individual broke their wrist in a fall. At her follow-up appointment, the orthopedic doctor wrote, “No further treatment needed due to the patient’s lack of use of the hand”, even though she uses a walker every day. The injury never healed properly and ultimately required surgery and months of rehabilitation. A second doctor noted, “She is medically stable to undergo anesthesia, although she is mentally challenged.”

These stories are heartbreaking and far too common. Your support can help change this and build a future where everyone is seen, valued and cared for with no exceptions.
